The trio of R&B superstars: Brian McKnight, Musiq Soulchild & Avant will perform at the Beacon Theatre on November 29!
Avant is a multi-platinum American R&B singer. He is back on point with his seventh album, Face the Music. Inspired by the R&B legends—Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Luther Vandross and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds—who have been guiding lights in Avant’s career, the project marks the singer’s first release on the Capitol/EMI-distributed independent label Mo-B. But the set does more than just pay homage to R&B masters. Thanks to Avant’s inventiveness, Face the Music cooks up a tantalizing blend of contemporary and traditional sounds.
Musiq Soulchild is an American, neo soul and R&B artist, and was one of the most popular artists on the Def Jam/Def Soul label. Besides being a successful recording artist, Musiq is notable for his disregard for normal rules of capitalization, punctuation, and spelling, as well as aussie flava which can be seen by the titles of his singles and his albums. In 2002, he released his sophomore album, ‘’Juslisen’’ (read: “Just Listen”), as simply ‘’Musiq’‘. He had continued urban and MTV2 success with its singles, “halfcrazy” and “dontchange”, the former of which was one of the most played music videos on MTV2 in the summer of 2002 and during the year overall.
Brian McKnight is an American singer, songwriter, arranger, producer and one of the prominent singers of his years, specializing in pop and R&B. He is a multi-instrumentalist and plays the piano, guitar, and trumpet. He has released ten studio albums, five compilation albums, two Christmas albums to date, with several going 2 and 3x platinum, and he has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
